The first-ever Google Pixel phone was dropped in October 2016 after which it has gained increased popularity. Its sleek and stylish appearance is what makes the smartphone so desirable apart from its features. The back has a completely matte finish with a touch of the shiny plate right on top behind the camera. Pixel 4, however, has a few differences, it has been reviewed the best out of the lot for its overall speed and camera performance among other factors. And the latest version, Pixel 5 has been released on 30th September 2020 and is yet to be launched in India. Here we have listed out the specifications of each Pixel phone to help you make a smart choice.
Launched in October of 2019, the Pixel 4 uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and runs on the Android 10 operating system. The phone comes with a 5.70 inches touch screen packed with a resolution of 1080×2280 pixels. When talking about the cameras, the front features 8MP while the rear camera loads 16MP + 12.2 MP. As far as storage is concerned it holds 64 GB in-built storage and 6 GB RAM. So now let’s get to the fun stuff, the Pixel 4 has been launched in 3 colors which are Clear White, Just Black, and Oh So Orange. These colors are topped onto the glassy and shiny rear of the smartphone which is quite different from its previous ones which had a full matte.
Pixel 3 was released on the 1st of November 2018, with Android version 9 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The touch screen slightly smaller than its next-generation (pixel 4) is sized at 5.50 inches with a camera of 8MP+8MP. The smartphone has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB/128 GB in-built storage. When talking about the design. Google Pixel uses an aluminum frame but instead of the full matte, this is a glass section on top and all side frames of the phone. The Pixel 3 has a good feel when holding it owing to its compact size and the ideal shape. The quality of cameras and speakers are truly noteworthy. And this version of Pixel comes in Just Black, Clearly White, and Not Pink colors.
So now let’s talk about the newest Pixel smartphone for a while. Though it has been launched in the US in September 2020 it is still yet to be released in India and a little birdie told us it’s going to be here sometime around December of 2020. Priced at $699 in the US the Pixel 5 is expected to be around ₹51,490 (128 GB, 8GB RAM) which is comparatively cheaper than its previous launches. The Pixel has exchanged its high-end processor with an upper mid-range Snapdragon 765G. The Pixel camera adopts the 12MP IMX363 same as its previous generation like the Pixel 3a and 4a. Extreme battery saver mode is one of the new features added by Google to its newest release. This is all the relevant information that’s been given out, I guess we’ll just have to wait.
No doubt that the Pixel watch is a competition for Apple watches and other smartwatches, it is just a matter of how big or small the competition is, if and when it will be. Pixel watch would be the first smartwatch from Google which makes it the ultimate Wear OS there will ever be. It seems as given that Google, one day or the other will launch its own line of smartwatches the question is “when?”.
PIXEL LAUNCH DATE
The much-awaited Pixel watch has seen leaks and long discussions, but never a confirmation. The smartwatch was first rumored to be released in 2018 and then again in 2019 along with the Pixel 4. Though the latest updates pointed to its launch in the October of 2020, well that didn’t happen. Google already has its Wear OS that works on both, Android as well as iPhone.
PIXEL WATCH PRICE
We can’t be expecting this to be the cheapest among fine smartwatches but, we sure can expect the Pixel watch to be undercut to that of Apple (series 6) or Samsung watch 3, as both of these have a starting rate of $400. So, the Pixel watch might fall slightly under this rate.
THE PIXEL DESIGN
Though we have a bunch of rumored information on its price and launch dates, we have interestingly had no glance whatsoever of its appearance. The designer James Tsai has come to our rescue and given us his interpretation by releasing what he expects the Pixel watch to be designed as. He also allowed himself to come up with quirky Google inspired names for the colors, like Milk White, Sweet Papaya, and Boba Black which only makes us want them more. Google are you listening?
